Whether you are a beginner or an expert gardener, we need your help! Our gardening team meets at the butterfly garden to weed and trim the garden. This team enjoys being outside and working with others who have the same interest in gardening. Bring your garden gloves and favorite hand tools. We weed for about hour but become longtime friends. Come see what is buzzing in the garden! May be rescheduled due to inclement weather.
No registration needed.
If you have any questions or would like to get email reminders of when we meet, please email: FriendsofSMF@gmail.com
Wednesdays, June 7, July 5, August 2, September 6 and October 4
Once imperiled from the loss of habitat, bluebirds are making a comeback. Springton Manor Farm provides just the right habitat for Sialia sialis, the Eastern Bluebird. We welcome Ken Leister from the Bluebird Society of Pennsylvania to discuss these bright blue songbirds. Learn the habits and needs of bluebirds so that you may attract a nesting pair to your yard.
Enjoy a leisurely Sunday afternoon at our Victorian Ice Cream Social. To beat the heat, treat yourself to a nice cold bowl of ice cream. Play games such as badminton and croquet and make Victorian period crafts. Donations accepted. Last year’s donations helped provide a run-in shed for the baby goats.
