FEMA Open House for Property Owners: New Chester County Flood Insurance Maps
Thursday, July 20, 2017: Drop-in hours from 4:30pm-7:00pm
Chester County Government Services Center, Room 171
Portions of 47 municipalities within Chester County have new FEMA floodplain maps that go into effect 9/29/2017. Properties located partially or entirely within the new FEMA floodplain boundaries may (or may not) be affected by these changes and may be required to have flood insurance. The Open House will provide property owners an opportunity to speak with FEMA and County representatives to obtain more information and have their questions answered regarding whether and how the new maps will affect the flood insurance requirements and costs for their property.
Property owners interested in learning if they will be affected by the revised FEMA maps are encouraged to attend. FEMA staff will show property owners their revised floodplain boundary mapping, explain what it means, and answer individual questions. Property owners can also review the pending FEMA floodplain mapping posted on Chesco.org.
