On May 23, 2018, three Pennsylvania State Troopers discharged their firearms in the line of duty. Nobody was struck and nobody was injured. According to DAO policy, such a discharge of firearms triggers an investigation led by an independent agency.
The DA's Office announced the arrest of defendant Anthony Rife, the branch manager of DNB and a Parkesburg Boro Council member, for embezzling over $100,000 from bank clients. The embezzlement included accounts for a special needs person and a dead man.
District Attorney Hogan and the Pa. State Police announced the arrest of defendant Humberto Guzman-Garcia for kidnapping and sexually assaulting a four-year old girl in Avondale. The defendant was a stranger to the victim and the victim's family.
